HAIR BIZ HISTORY
:
January 1988 - Began my life in the hair biz as an apprentice at CONCORD
COIFFURES ..My "teacher" was a French hair stylist by the name
of Alex. I worked there for a year and then I moved away to Meridian, Mississippi
-- What a culture shock !!!
January 1989 to October 1989 -
FINAL TOUCH BEAUTY SCHOOL - Meridian, MS
* (Mississippi didn't recognize apprenticeships, so I had to go to beauty school-
and I am so glad I did!! Although I learned a lot as an apprentice, I didn't
learn HALF the stuff I needed to in order to pass the test for my license.)
December 1989 - Took the state board exam.. and passed..
I am now a licensed cosmetologist.. Yippee!!
January 1991 to January 1994- HEADS UP SALON -Meridian, MS
I was one of twenty employees - it was a HUGE salon!
While living & working in Meridian, I met some wonderful people, made some
great friends, and had built a great clientele.....
....but then I moved back home to Birmingham.
February 1994 to June 1997 - ALLEN & COMPANY - Bham, AL.
It was located in the Lakeview area. I worked there until it closed in June
1997.
June 1997 to January 2006- MADCAP BEAUTY SPOT -Homewood
Worked there until it closed at the end of January 2006.
February 2006 to Present- TRIPLE PLATINUM SALON-Bham, AL
